Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Wow I had no idea what a busy holiday Halloween can be! There is just not enough time to get everywhere and to see everyone. Well at least not with a six month old who has their own schedule/agenda. Today I had the opportunity to stay home and spend some quality time with my little lady, and we also got a lot of chores done. After dinner we waited for Daddy to get home then made it to Buddie and Big Johns for a quick visit before heading to the church for Trunk or Treat. Sonni was the sweetest watermelon I've ever seen! She looked adorable!

Posing at Trunk or Treat... She was much more interested in all that hay than the picture!

Sonni on her first hay ride with Pop at Trunk or Treat!

Sonni and Hartley
They were a watermelon and strawberry and both looked VERY cute! Sonni was also very interested in Hartley's hat.
Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween!

Sunday Funday

On Tuesday, Sonni was still throwing up and having an upset stomach. So we finally had to break down and make a trip to see the Dr! Our usual Dr. B is not in the office on Tuesday so we had to see someone new. He gave us some nausea/vomiting medicine to give to Sonni around the clock until she was better. The rest of the week was filled with work and clinical. I thought Sonni was completely well until.....Thursday Monnie picked Sonni up from Mrs. Connie's so she could spend some time with her....Friday their whole family was sick with the stomach bug! On Friday Sonni did not seem to feel like herself either and she ended up throwing up one more time. Will had some guys over to watch the St. Louis Cardinals win the world series, and Sonni and I just hung out at the house. Saturday she woke up seeming to be back to her usual self. I worked Saturday morning so she went with Buddie to set up for a party and to the tea room in Ripley with Buddie and Aunt S.
Saturday night we had a wedding shower for Ashley and Coach and then went to Summer's Halloween party for a little bit with Tanny and Christine. Sonni spent the night with Gigi and Pop. We had a good time and enjoyed spending time with friends. We did not get to dress up since we had been to the wedding shower first.
Sunday we went to church and then just spent the afternoon hanging out as a family. We went to Buddie and Big John's for dinner and Sonni enjoyed jumping in the jump-a-roo!

She was one tired little girl after all that jumping!
Tomorrow is Halloween! Can't wait to dress up my little bug and go to the church for some Trunk or Treat! She looks adorable in her costume!

Stomach Bug Blues

Well to say that I am a little behind on posting would be an understatement. But we have been on "vacation" this week and that meant vacation from everything including blogging. But we have all also had a stomach bug the last two days. Let me just say that there is no way to be prepared when you have a six month old that is throwing up! This all began Sunday after church. Sonni pooped literally from head to toe in the car on the way to eat Mexican. Once we were in the restaurant, she threw up all over the table, floor, and menus. (Thankfully Gigi was there to help get everything cleaned up!)At first I was thinking that it was just a fluke, but later that night while eating dinner at Buddie and Big Johns Will and I both began feeling sick, we realized that we all had a touch of a stomach bug. Also let me say that even with a stomach virus, Sonni was still a perfect little angel. She didn't fuss much at all. She would throw up and then start playing again. She did sleep a lot more than normal, but that was welcomed because we all spent the entire day today sleeping. Also what is not easy about being the mom when everyone is sick...is that you still have to take care of everybody else! But both of our parents stepped up to help as usual by watching Sonni and going to the grocery for us and we are so very thankful!! I think Will had it worse than anybody. But we are on the mend now and everyone is feeling a little bit better. Sonni looked so sweet in her church clothes Sunday. I am just glad I was able to get them cleaned up before they got ruined, but I did not get a picture of her!
With that being said, we had a fun time while we were off. Sonni had her six month check-up and shots at the doctor. Her official weight was 17.4 and height was 27 1/4. They said she was as tall as a nine month old, but her weight and head circumference was right on track. Looks like we may have a tall little girl on our hands. The shots were better this time. She did not cry as long afterwards and didn't seem to feel bad either.

On Wednesday after the doctors appointment, we headed down to Sardis to spend some family time and get a few things done. We had to finish underpinning the trailer and get it ready for winter. We enjoyed our time with just the three of us cooking and hanging out.

This dog is way too spoiled!

These are her fish pj's in true fashion for the lake!!
 Sonni and daddy working!
Her legs looked so fat in these little leggings! You could see every roll she has!
We headed home Friday because Sonni had pictures on Saturday. These pictures were Buddie's Christmas present and all of her cousins were in it and so were Buddie and Big John. Phil also took a few of Sonni by herself. I think they are all going to be really good. I will post the link when it is available. Here is a sample that I took while they were getting ready.

Saturday night Sonni spent the night with Gigi and Pop and they had a bonfire and dad's family came in from out of town. We went and ate with Joel and Mckenzie and Nora and Drew.

 Sonni ready for the bonfire!
Her TN binky that Gigi got for her Ready for Back in Black!
We were supposed to have pictures last Tuesday with Cristi, but it rained. And we had rescheduled for today...but we were all sick!!! So we have rescheduled pictures AGAIN for Friday. I am so excited to get these family pictures done...Hopefully all will go well and we will be able to get the pictures done. The rest of the week will be spent working and doing clinic. Hopefully everyone will remain healthy the rest of the week!

Six Months

I can't believe I just typed those words!!!! I am completely amazed at how time has began to fly. It seems so crazy that it has already been six months. It seemed like I was pregnant for an eternity and the past six months have come and gone in what feels like two weeks...(except for when I am at work, that seems like an eternity...haha). Sonni I am completely amazed at how much you have changed. Your Dad and I enjoy watching you grow and learn. At six months you are eating cereal twice a day and we are making our way through all of the fruits, but have not started on any vegetables yet. You are able to sit up for about a minute or two on your own  before you topple over. You are not crawling, but instead you roll to get where you need to go. You enjoy playing in the jumparoo. You may be a terror at two, but you are well natured now. You pretty much only complain when you are tired or stopped up. Even with allergies you are just as content as can be.  You laugh and coo and are really beginning to recognize people. You are reaching your hands out to be picked up, holding your own bottle, and sucking your toes! You are also really beginning to get attached to that binky and lamby. I honestly did not know that I could love someone so much!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

This past weekend Will was out of town for fish camp so it was just me and Sonni! Friday I had to work all day and then do homework when I got home and put Sonni down, but Saturday we went to the Merry Market with Mckenzie and Hartley. It was very crowed and hard to manage two kids and strollers, but we got a few really nice things and had a good time. We met Buddie, Rene, and Ashley there and then all went to the mall together. They had all been at the Lucy walk but I decided it was just going to be too much for me to try to do both with Sonni. Saturday night Buddie, Sonni, and I went to Mckenzies. We ate pizza, watched football, and painted pumpkins. Sonni was already in bed for the pumpkin painting, but she did wear her Halloween pj's for the event! Hartley was so cute painting the pumpkins and we even carved one. However, I don't think any of our pumpkins are going to be in Southern Living any time soon!

Sunday we went to church...but we only did Sunday school because Sonni is beginning to cough and sneeze again and I didn't want to take her to the nursery. (I didn't think the other moms would be very happy about it if I did!) I suppose she just has some allergies, maybe the same one as me because I have also been coughing for over a week now! Hopefully we will be completely well soon.

We spent the rest of the day Sunday with Will once he got home. We sure missed him! He was gone on his birthday too! So we cooked dinner at the house tonight and he ate off of the Red Plate. I haven't mentioned the red plate yet, but it is a special plate that everyone eats off of on special occasions. This is a tradition that my mom started a long time ago. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!! We love you very much and are thankful for all that you do for us! Will is going on a red fishing trip this weekend which fell perfectly for his birthday time. So we hope that he has a fun and safe trip.

Update!

This week has been busy as most are! I am very tired of having to spend so much time on school which means less time with my precious baby girl. I have been trying to do a lot of my school work while she is sleeping, which is working out okay. It just means later nights for momma. I have been off the last couple of days and Will has been working nights so we have been enjoying the last couple of days as family just spending time with each other. I have not been as productive as I hoped to be, but as many people tried to tell me before I had my own child, some things just take priority over others. So while my house is a DISASTER zone, we have had fun the last two days! And I also got all the school work done that I needed too! Now for some pictures of this beautiful baby girl! Last Sunday she went to visit with Nana Pop and the rest of the family while I was at work. I also wanted to note that since we started the baby food experience, we have had peaches, bananas, and avocados. Those are all the foods that we have tried thus far. She doesn't seem to like any of them unless they are mixed in with the cereal. But she is doing a lot better with the actual eating part. We are still only eating food at breakfast and dinner.

This is an old picture of Mac and Will that I uploaded from the video camera when I finally found the cord. I thought it was cute! This was probably three years ago!

Baby Food!!

We have had a busy week with Will being out of town and Sonni not sleeping very well at night I have been one tired momma! Sooo, with the part about her not sleeping being said we decided to begin cereal and baby food. Just thinking that she may not be getting full and that this will help with the sleeping. I was going to wait until 6 months, but that is only 14 days away! So today we had our first experience with oatmeal cereal and peaches. She really liked the oatmeal, but didn't quite know what to think about the peaches!!

Thursday night when Will got home, we invited Joel and Mac over for dinner. Hartley loves Sonni and is always wanting to help. So she gave Sonni her bottle! These little girls are too cute!
