Summertime

Monday is the first day of summer school for this mommy. While I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I absolutely dread starting back to school!!! I have enjoyed my month long break of no homework or clinic. Wednesday I got off at 3 and don't have to go back to work until next week. So Sonni and I have been hanging out celebrating the end of mommas summer break. Today we did chores around the house and got a lot of cleaning done. We also were able to get in a few projects that I needed to catch up on and spend some time playing. It was raining most of the day, but this afternoon we spent time out on the porch playing. Sonni had a blast playing with a stick in the flowers and going off of the porch into the rain.

Wacky Wednesday

Tonight we went over to Buddie and Big John's for dinner. Sonni had a blast playing in the yard!

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day! A special thank you to all of the individuals who serve and protect our country!

We celebrated Memorial day this past weekend at Sardis with family and friends. We had a wonderful time and I am so thankful for all of the memories that were made. Will and I came home on Sunday to work today, but we were able to enjoy a nice BBQ dinner with my family.

TODDLER!

Well I am happy and sad to say that I officially have a toddler! Today when we got to Sardis, I put Sonni down in the living room and proceeded to take my bag to the bedroom. I turned around and she had walked the whole way! She hasn't crawled since! She will fall down and then get back up and start over again. Most definitely a bitter sweet milestone...She's not a baby anymore!

The Wakefield's

Today Jan had the Wakefield's over for dinner. This was a plan she and Mrs. Nancy came up with a couple of weekends ago and I must say I think everyone enjoyed it!

Big John got Sonni a pool for the yard and she loved it!...(I think we may have to bring it to the house)

Palmer and Sonni are starting to get along much better! I think they will grow to really enjoy each other.

Big Fish

Today Will went fishing like many other Saturday mornings...but today...Daddy caught a BIG FISH!!! Will has always said that if he ever caught a 3 lb crappie he was going to get it mounted and he achieved that goal today! We were so happy for him. The fish was 3.3 lbs and 18 inches long. The pictures really don't do it justice. I'm sure this little guy will be hanging on the shop wall before too much longer.

This afternoon we went over to Joel & Mac's to swim. When we got there Hartley and Kale were swimming in their birthday suits so of course Sonni wanted to join in!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! I have enjoyed this last year with my little lady and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! I had a wonderful mother's day and hope everyone else did too!

Being a mother is an honor and a challenge. It has brought me more joy than I knew was humanly possible. I am thankful everyday that God has given me the opportunity to be a mother to such a beautiful, perfect gift from him.

I am also thankful to have such a wonderful Christian mother who has always been there for me and set an example of the person that I am supposed to be. I couldn't make it without her!
