This entire process has been much harder on my body than I could have ever imagined! I thought that by now, two weeks out, I would be back to normal. While I am far from normal, it is all worth it when I look at my beautiful baby girl. I am adjusting to these changes and the changes of our new life.
I am trying to soak up every minute of my time at home with Sonni. It is as if she is changing daily before my eyes. She has already gotten back up to her birth weight of 8.5 and grown half an inch in the last week.
We have been able to get out of the house a little more this week which has been really nice. We have ridden to the river several times because it is expected to reach record levels. Right now the Mississippi River is covering the parking lot at Duvall's and is almost to the cooking pit at John's Boat Dock. The level is currently at 38 feet. It is predicted to reach 48 feet. We will take Sonni to the river and take her picture by the river once it peaks. There have also been several toronados and severe thunderstorms this week. These are the worse storms we have had in some time and the death toll is over 300. The worst of the storms hit is Alabama and Mississippi. However, at one point we did have 80 mile an hour winds. We are greatful that we did not have any damage to our house during these storms.
On a better note, here are some pictures of Sonni and her very happy grandparents!
